What golf set to buy for a short woman?
I’m buying a golf set for a friend who is a bit short. In fact, she is 5′ tall. Is buying a woman’s golf set ok? Is adjusting to the golf set her own problem?
She uses my Golf Clubs and complains about the height of them and insists on getting her own woman’s set. However, when I compared the women’s clubs to the men’s, they are only about half an inch shorter.
What should I do? Should I buy it anyway?
For your amateur golfer shorter clubs will improve accuracy but not distance. As a womans stroke power is less on average than a mans the longer the club shaft the greater the distance. You need to balance swing, technique, stance and other variables. But if its just for fun why not buy the ones she likes to improve her confidence and enjoyment of the game. Take a look at the clubs that Japanese women pros (Ai Miyazato, etc.) are using. Their short in stature but their clubs aren’t.
